5* tv but 1* on key usability feature

Let me start by saying this TV overall is really nice. The picture is amazing and for most people the story ends there. However theres a critical feature missing related to the common scenario of pairing the TV with an external audio system e.g. receiver or sound bar namely displaying the current audio level. This capability utilizes HDMI-CEC functionality to communicate volume up/down to the external audio device and importantly OSD on screen display instructions sent back conveying the volume level. This TV is able to send the volume up/down instructions but does not display the level. In its place we simply get a plus/minus OSD confirming the button press but telling nothing about the current level see attached picture. To the casual reader this may not seem like a big deal but its difficult to understate the utility of knowing the absolute volume level. It provides a known anchor set point target volume which suits the listener. A single button press shows how close or far off the desired volume is. The alternative is to rely on the external sound device to show the level which isnt always possible due to cabinet doors or remote locations of equipment. Or primitively gauging the volume blindly everytime its adjusted. Neither of these approaches is ideal and certainly not at the level expected for higher end systems an OLED tv buyer is typically putting together. I was using and enjoying this feature on a competitors 2015 TV so the technology has definitely been around which means theres really no excuse here for not offering it. A TV of this caliber should not be lacking such a key usability feature. My strong hope is LG can address this in a software update and put the issue to rest. Based on my research on how to fix the problem I am seeing this feature is a deal breaker to quite a few people so resolving it would seemingly be smart business. LG please look into this issue

We waited for two years for the price to drop on this model. It was worth the wait. Highly highly recommend the LG OLED range.
